I didn't particularly enjoy the Incursion events back when they still happened, but I thought 'hey, they spent some time and made something new and interesting, they can't do anything worse!'. Boy was I wrong... Bottom line is I won't be joining ...

You can just copy the already downloaded and installed client to your new install, copy whole "CCP" folder. That's what I did when I reinstalled windows and it works fine (save the white freeze bug that occurs since retri 1.1 patch but that's anot...

the socket close is a different issue, doesn't have to do with the white client freeze, has more to do with server node and with intrawebs networks.

If keeping HS sites open is a valid tactic, then recycling ganking alts when their sec status becomes too low should also be a valid tactic to counter it.
